Multimedia is a combination of text, graphics, sound, animation and video that is delivered interactively to the user by electronic or digitally manipulated means.
ELEMENTS OF MULTIMEDIA
1. TEXT
- the most basic element of multimedia
- contains words to express something
- a good choice of words could help us to convey messages to the users
- normally used in contents, menus, navigational buttons
- the position of the text on the screen
- the length of the message
- legibility of the text
- two-dimensional figure or illustration
- could be produced manually (by drawing, painting, carving etc) or by computer graphics technology
- to show more clearly what a particular information is all about.
- for example: diagrams, pictures
- produce by vibration, as perceived by the sense of hearing
- audio could come in the form of speech, sound effects and music
- is the process of making a static image look like it is moving
- animation is used to further enhance or enriched the experience of the user to further understand of information conveyed to them
- is the technology of capturing, recording, processing, transmitting and reconstructing moving pictures.
- video is more towards photo realistic image sequence/live recording as in comparison to animation
